GEOMETRIE DER LIEBE
MUSIKTHEATER

BY ALEXANDER CHARIM AND MICHAEL RAUTER
‘INSPIRED BY PIER PAOLO PASOLINI

The edifice of our consumer and growth society is beginning to wobble. Would its complete collapse bury us under its own rubble, or perhaps instead only then reveal a long-lost concept of freedom? Forty years ago, Pier Paolo Pasolini was already thinking through this idea. His film “Teorema“ focuses on the ambivalence of all sets of rules, the entropy of a system through fear of life, self-created compulsions and the necessity of breaking free of these constrictions.
Alexander Charim has made a name for himself with a number of unorthodox music theatre projects. This current project, born out of Pasolini’s challenge to risk stepping into the unknown, has liberated itself from all traditional definitions of an evening at the theatre. Instead of a self-contained single performance, a fragmented theatre installation has been created from music and language which permits a sufficient degree of freedom and allows each member of the audience to create an exclusive personal theatre work.
